A complementary-therapy practice with clinics in Leeds, Brighton and Eastbourne is

expanding to Edinburgh.

Pain Care Clinic, which specialises in myofascial release (MFR) to treat chronic pain was founded in 2007 by myofascial specialist, Amanda Oswald.

Amanda was first inspired to practise MFR after researching advanced anatomy and

physiology and specialist bodywork techniques to help her own recovery from a slipped

disc:

“Myofascial release is a hands-on therapy growing in popularity, as it can help all sorts of people with everyday injuries and chronic pain conditions”, says Amanda.

Clients commonly seek help for conditions such as migraines, jaw pain, repetitive strain injury, plantar fasciitis, chronic pelvic pain, scars and back pain:

“Many of my clients have been through the medical ‘mill’ and ‘standard’ therapies haven’t

worked. There are so many people suffering chronic pain who have been written off by

doctors and told they have to live with it. That’s why I decided to specialise in myofascial

release, as I have found it to be such an effective therapy.”

She adds: “Myofascial release gently eases chronic pain and restores alignment and mobility by focusing on fascia, the main connective tissue that runs deep into the body, as well as on

muscles, joints and nerves.”

As part of her treatment programmes, Amanda also teaches clients myofascial exercises which they can do at home.

All appointments last 50 minutes and while the usual fee per session is £79, Amanda has a special offer for Edinburgh Business and Lifestyle readers – 25% off the first treatment, valid till 31 December 2024.

The Pain Care Clinic Edinburgh is based in Giles Street, Leith Myofascial Release Massage UK - London Harley Street, Leeds, Brighton, Eastbourne (paincareclinic.co.uk)
