Contemporary Edinburgh artist, Jamie Primrose grew up in the Trinity area of the city, and after some years abroad and in London, he returned to his hometown in 2003. He now has a studio, in Stockbridge – and his work reflects the beauty of this part of town, and beyond.
His next exhibition, Serenity, of 50 new oil paintings, is at the Dundas Street Gallery in Edinburgh, from Friday 8-Saturday 16 November.
Featuring some of the most picturesque sights in and around the capital, visitors can expect to see many of their favourite Stockbridge and New Town locations, including the Water of Leith as it flows through Dean Village and alongside the Colonies, and the ponds in both Inverleith Park and the Botanic Gardens.
Newhaven harbour, the Firth of Forth and the beaches of East Lothian have also been captured in this collection of waterscapes, sunsets, seasonal hues and cloudscapes.
