Royal Mile Silver jewellery at the Edinburgh Christmas Market

Christmas is coming – and in Edinburgh that also means the chance to visit the city’s Christmas Market, with gift buying in mind.

One of this year’s traders, Royal Mile Silver, specialises in silver, gold-vermeil and tungsten-carbide jewellery, inspired by nature and tribal art – and it will be celebrating its ninth year of trading at the market.    

The business was launched in 1993 by Chandra Mather, when she began selling silver jewellery from a stall on the Royal Mile. Nowadays, Royal Mile Silver jewellery is available online, and there are plans to open a shop in 2025.

Chandra said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming back familiar faces from previous years and to meeting new admirers who share our passion for jewellery.’’

The Christmas market runs from 15 November to 4 January.
