An online magazine for and about small businesses, micro businesses, sole traders, freelancers - and bigger businesses
Hairdressers Jay and Natalie Calder, of Calder & Calder, have opened a salon at 4 Drumsheugh Place in Edinburgh's West End.
The husband-and-wife-led business, previously based in Marchmont, was launched more than five years ago, since when it has grown to a team of five hairdressers, plus two apprentices.
Jay Calder said: “We chose Drumsheugh Place because we love the West End's character. The area has a great community feel, with many independent retailers and shops, and we instantly felt at home in the new space as soon as we saw it.”
Jay, who has almost 20 years’ experience as a hairdresser, has also worked backstage at fashion shows, tending to the hairstyles of celebrities such as Edith Bowman, Pixie Lott and New Zealand rugby player, Dan Carter.
Natalie, the head hair educator at the salon, also has around two decades’ worth of hairdressing experience. She specialises in exploring new trends and techniques, to further develop the expertise of the team, for the benefit of clients.
